Sandra from Germany

My main task was to support the Marketing and Sales department concerning New Years Eve Event Marketing for North America. This assignment involved a range of different tasks.

In my first days I got a detailed introduction of the everyday work. My principle duty was to change the status of events, to upload images on the website and to add information to venues and events. In addition to that I gathered and prepared the information to create the Halloween Events newsletters for all the top cities in North America. Besides that I did a lot of data research for nightlife venues in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Montreal. For this purpose I was checking and completing the venue listings and searching for missing contact information. All of this was a good way to get familiar with the website.

In the time that followed I have set up a Facebook advertisement campaign and posted NYE events, which I could find on other websites and were not posted on the listings yet. This work established a basis for the tickets sales marketing my coworker does as she could call the promoters of these events to ask if they would like to sell tickets through.

Furthermore I made up an abstract of the website of a new business partner will be working with in the future. I created a overview of the different web pages, including screenshots and further information, for internal use.

In preparation for the new website which will be launched in mid January, I did a summary of all kinds of possible categories for music types, venues types and event and scene types.

Another project I was working on was a nightlife site report, in which I gathered information about other internet nightlife guides in North American cities into which wants to enlarge their activity. Therefore I collected contact information and did an analysis of their offered listings and information and checked the quality of it.

A further task to accomplish was to prepare information for the planned expand of activities in London, UK. I had to find out about the top 20 nightlife venues in London. I added these venues (if not yet on the listings), featured them as top venues, completed contact information and venue description, while also uploading photo galleries and adding VIP direct for all featured venues.

Furthermore, I was allowed to attend internal meetings as well as some external meetings with business associates and prospects. This has given me the chance to see behind the curtain concerning their every day work and they made me feel like part of the team during my time.
