Sofie From Sweden

Hello! I worked in a ski resort in Banff, Alberta for 8 months as a housekeeper. Working at the resort gave me a lot of work experience and a great chance to practice my English. It was also a great opportunity to meet new people and make some international friends. I got to see some of Canada’s most beautiful mountains and countryside travelling to Nova Scotia, Ontario, Vancouver Island and Vancouver. After working in ski resort for the last 8 months I decided to start University when I come back home so that hopefully I can become a hotel manager in the future!

Melissa from Germany

Hi! I came to Canada because everybody said it was a beautiful country. I had never been here before and wanted to explore other countries and cultures, and of course to see the Olympics! I worked at General Motors Place and got to interact with other people, I had nice co-workers. Canada is a lovely country with so much to offer. There’s lots of really nice and polite people, for me it was a good mixture of the European and American way of living. While I was here I improved and developed all aspects of myself. Since living and working in Canada I have done lots of sight-seeing in Vancouver. I have also been snowboarding in Whistler, visited Victoria, Tofino, Nanaimo and made numerous trips to the United States.  My time in Canada is almost up, next week I will be traveling to California for almost two months and then I will be going back to Germany to start studying at University!

Melanie from Switzerland

Hello everyone, my name is Melanie and I am from Switzerland. I am 22 years old and I have been dreaming about coming to Canada for over six years now. I came to Canada to improve my English and to experience working in Canada. During my time here I was in a language school, then working at Subway and then language school again. I liked my co-workers at Subway and I made a lot of friends at the language school. I really liked the fact that I was right here in Vancouver during the Olympics. I got the change to see my country, Swiss, play vs. Norway. I have done a lot of trips and seen a lot of things, such as Rocky Mountains, Whistler, Tofino and Vancouver Island and recommend them to everyone. I also went sightseeing in and around Vancouver of course. I particularly liked Stanley Park, the Lookout Tower and watching a Canucks game. But I have not seen everything yet. Before I go home I am going to travel through Canada and Alaska in the car I bought.
